This afternoon I went for a stroll by the River Ebro despite it being rather a dull day and found this Little Egret hunting for its lunch.

A number of Yellow-legged Gulls (Larus cachinnans) flew overhead followed by about fifty Black-headed Gulls (Larus ridibundus). Some twenty Great Cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) were scattered up and down the river between El Puente de Pilar and El Puente de Santiago, diving beneath the swiftly flowing water or perched, wings outstretched, in the trees on the riverbank.
